Clearview Hospital Pledges To Tackle Medical Tourism

The management of Clearview Hospital has pledged to tackle medical tourism in Nigeria through the improvement of maternal and child healthcare.

During the hospital’s fifth anniversary, with the theme: “Celebrating Five Years Of Quality Healthcare Service,” Dr. Kunle Ajayi, the Managing Director of the Lekki-based medical facility, at the weekend in Lagos, observed that the clinic had stood out for mothers and children during pre- and post-conception such as fertility treatment and solutions that include fibroid removal via laparoscopic myomectomy and other factors that aid fertility.

“Others are conception (In vitro fertilisation treatment) and delivery such as ante-natal programme, Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU) services and partnerships that give the capacity to cater to more pre-term babies.”

DR. Ajayi stated that to address the issue of cost, which is a major challenge in accessing health care, the hospital has partnered itself with Access Bank Women Community to bring affordable payment plans to cater for gynaecological procedures and IVF via a Maternal Health Service Scheme Programme.

Speaking on the efficient workforce, Ajayi submitted: “Our structural personnel expansion has given a way for delivery of service with industry’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to give the patient the best care experience, even post-care. This is further reiterating our dedication to quality care and improving customer experience at Clearview Hospital.”

As part of her advocacy for students to have access to affordable health care, Access Bank Group Head, Women (W) Bank Initiative, Mrs. Abiodun Olubitan, explained that patients had been provided with payment plans to help them pay for quality healthcare.

“A service, where patients that have a salaried account or third party salaried account with Access Bank can benefit from an easy repayment plan for their IVF and delivery, as well as gynaecological procedures, with just an amazingly low-interest rate, long-term payment plan, and no charge. A programme that also gives the advantage to be assisted by a loved one or family member or friend.”

As she spoke on the hospital’s corporate social responsibility, Abimbola Aiyeyemi, the President of KB Klub, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, disclosed that the socio-philanthropic organisation of medical students would be partnering with the hospital for the provision of free healthcare services to mothers and children in Lekki and its environs.
