Zamfara Commissioner, PRNigeria Discuss Collaboration on Reputation Management

The Zamfara State Government has signified its intention to partner with the Image Merchants Promotion (Limited), the publishers of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, in changing the narrative of the State.

Zamfara Commissioner of Information and Culture, Alh. Mannir Haidara, disclosed this on Monday, when he paid an advocacy visit to the Abuja Office of PRNigeria.

Haidara observed that the media remains a powerful tool in driving societal change, hence any serious government or institution cannot afford to disregard working with security-focused media agencies like PRNigeria.

He pointed out that his visit to IMPR was aimed at exploring the avenue of collaborating with PRNigeria, in particular, to properly disseminate the strides recorded by the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal Dauda in tackling banditry in the State.

According to him, their government has remained unwavering in its determination to permanently rid Zamfara of terrorism, and therefore sees the media as a veritable tool in driving that vision.

“We have seen what PRNigeria has been doing over the years, particularly in terms of factual and authoritative dissemination of security reportage in the country. You have carved a niche for yourself, and everyone knows that.

“That is why we deem it necessary to pay your firm this visit, at this moment. We strongly believe that we can mutually work together, in helping to actualize the security blueprint of our pragmatic and charismatic Governor Dauda Lawal, for the people of Zamfara,” Haidara said.

Earlier in his presentation, Mal. Yushau Shuaib, the publisher and Editor-in-Chief of PRNigeria and Economic Confidential, expressed delight over the visit by the Zamfara Commissioner, saying he (Haidara) has hit the ground running at his Information Ministry.

Shuaib, lamented the ugly narrative about Zamfara State in the media, but expressed confidence that the awful image of the State can be corrected through strategic media collaboration.

“We acknowledged what your Governor has been doing to tackle insecurity in Zamfara. And as a critical stakeholder in the Nigerian media, we are assuring you of our support and partnership. We will deploy all our cutting edge Public Relations and media strategies to publicize what your Government is doing to secure Zamfara and the people of the State,” he said.
