World Malaria Day: HEDCODEC Provides Free Malaria Treatment For Suleja Residents
Heroic Discovery and Community Development Center, a Non-Government Organization has provided free medical outreach for the Residents of Suleja community in Niger state.
Aside from inculcating the need for adequate immunization vaccines for children, the NGO also distributed several basic needs for hygiene to prevent mosquitoes in the community.
The program is organized at APC quarter 2, Rugan-Fulani, Suleja, Monday to mark this year’s Malaria Day and Immunization week while the beneficiaries also receive free drugs for malaria treatment.
The program manager, Mrs. Monsurat Abdullah, disclosed that the initiative was to celebrate this year’s Malaria Day and create awareness for parents to fully immunized their children between the age of 0- and 5 for routine immunization.

“We joined the rest of the world and the World Health Organisation (WHO) to celebrate this year Malaria Day to reduce the malaria disease burden and save lives; also to mark World Immunization Week celebrated from April 24th – 30th every effort to make the use of vaccines in mitigating Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPDs).
“This is an efforts to making people understand the importance of getting immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases because our children do not need to perish or suffer needlessly for diseases that can be whipped.
“We encourage parents to visit their nearest healthcare centers for their children vaccinated which health workers can address other health issues, like nutrition, care for pregnant mothers and newborns, and malaria prevention and treatment. She said.
Some of the beneficiaries, while speaking to newsmen, applauded the efforts of HEDCODEC to organize the outreach to sensitize and provide free malaria drugs for people who tested positive in the community.
