Rotary International, Gates Foundation Partner On Health
In partnership with Rotary International, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has organised the second leg of Rotary Family Health Days (RFHA) for the Rotary year to cover the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja from the 2nd to the 4th of February, 2023.
During a briefing to flag off the programme at Rotary Centre, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, the National Coordinator, RFHA, Bola Oyebade, said the programme’s objective was to help Nigerians know their health status, which a lot of them take for granted.

“This programme commences today in about 120 locations in the country with 60 locations in Lagos. We are happy to collaborate with Bill & Melinda Gates in its passion to ensure immunisation of children across the world with a view to eradicating polio.

“It, therefore, targets immunisation of children against polio as well as Nigerians undergoing malaria screening and treatment, HIV testing and counselling, Hepatitis B & C, diabetes and glucose level screening among others,” said the past district governor.
He underscored the importance of the government doing a lot more in the area of creating awareness among Nigerians for them to know their health status from time to time, as prevention is always better than cure.
According to Dr. Jide Akeredolu, the Director of RFHA, West Africa, simple health checks along with regular exercise would go a long way to maintaining good health at all times.
