Red Cross Trains Journalists on First Aid Skills in Yobe

International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has organised a three-day First Aid training programme for journalists in Yobe State.

Mr Mohammed AbdulRashid, the Head of ICRC Office, Damaturu, said the training programme was aimed at equipping journalists with skills to become first responders in addition to their primary responsibility.

He said the ICRC recognised journalists’ frontline role in conflict situations.

AbdulRashid added that journalists often found themselves providing immediate assistance before victims were taken to hospitals for further treatment.
