Ogun State Reaffirms Commitment To Women’s Reproductive Health

The Ogun State Government has stated that it is determined to sustain the empowerment of women who are of reproductive age as well as families with the provision of quality Family Planning (FP) services, to further increase the health indices of the State.

Dr. Tomi Coker, the Commissioner for Health, made this known during the launch of the National Guidelines for State Funded Procurement of Family Planning Commodities in Abeokuta, saying the State was poised to provide affordable, qualitative, and efficient healthcare delivery for women of childbearing age.

Dr. Coker stated that family planning was a critical intervention in safeguarding the lives of mothers and families at large, as it improves outcomes of pregnancies and childbirth, which equally helps to avoid complications that could arise in the abortion of unwanted pregnancies.
