Ogun Gov’t Organises Workshop For Medical Director, CEOs
The government of Ogun State through the State Hospital Management Board, has organised a day orientation workshop for newly appointed medical directors and chief executive officers (CEOs) of 12 semi-autonomous hospitals under it, to expose them to the intricacies of leadership and management in the Civil Service, such as financial regulation, public service rules, team management, among others.

Delivering a lecture at the event, titled: “Teamwork and Leadership”, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, noted that about 50 percent of the state health care facilities were operated under secondary facilities, adding that it was important to ensure that the heads of the hospitals were in tune with clinical governance.

Dr. Coker said the spirit of team work among health workers would help in ensuring ethical standards required of medical practitioners for the delivery of efficient healthcare services for the people.
The Commissioner, in a statement signed by the Press Officer, HMB, Adebukonla Adekanmbi, explained that clinical governance is a system through, which organisations are accountable for continuously improving the quality of their services and safeguarding high standards of care by creating an environment in which excellence in clinical care would flourish.
