NDLEA Chairman Warns Youths Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking
The Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Buba Marwa, issued a stern warning to youths against the dangers of illicit drug consumption and trafficking. Speaking at the inauguration of the agency’s new Zonal Office in Ayingba, Kogi State, Marwa emphasized the need for collective action to combat the menace of drug abuse and trafficking.

The establishment of the zonal office is aimed at strengthening the agency’s efforts to curb drug-related activities in Kogi and the North-Central region. Marwa urged residents to join forces with the NDLEA to protect the youth from the destructive effects of illicit drugs.
Furthermore, he said, “Illicit drugs are claiming the lives of our children, our future leaders. We must rise to the occasion to ensure that we fight against this menace and keep our youths safe and sound,”.
Marwa commended Governor Usman Ododo for his support of the agency’s efforts, while the EJE of Dekina, Usman Obaje, praised the NDLEA for its resilience in fighting the war against illicit drugs.
The NDLEA Kogi commander, Umar Yahuza, noted that the opening of the zonal office would enhance the agency’s activities in tackling drug abuse and trafficking in the state.
