The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has organised a free health screening and medical services for officers and men of the Medical Guild (Lagos).

LASTMA Arranges Health Screening For Health Officials

Yesterday, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), partnered with Lagos State Medical Doctors, who are under the helm of the Medical Guild (Lagos), to organise free health screening and medical services for officers and men of the agency.

General Manager, LASTMA, Bolaji Oreagba, who spoke at the opening ceremony of the exercise, said that the collaboration was pertinent to ensure stable medical fitness for officers of the agency.

Oreagba, who was represented by Director, Welfare Matters, LASTMA, Comptroller Morayo Ojeniyi, said that only the healthy could contribute to the development of the state.
He said that the agency had standard and well-equipped medical facilities with professionals who attend to members of staff medical needs on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Government, yesterday, said works were in top gear to start the Fourth Mainland Bridge with at least three toll points, which would be in the best interest of the surrounding communities.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Aramide Adeyoye, disclosed this at a stakeholders’ meeting.

Adeyoye, represented by the Project Director, Fourth Mainland Bridge, Tokunbo Ajanaku, said that the construction of the bridge would employ at least 10,000 people, including suppliers, artisans and others.

According to her, the bridge would open up the Eti-Osa axis and allow greater connectivity between the Mainland and Island, making businesses to flourish, while journeying from the Island would no longer be three to four hours but 30 minutes.

She promised that those whose property was affected by the construction would be given adequate compensation.
