Lagos: Mushin residents get free medical checks, treatments, others
As part of activities marking its 50th manufacturing anniversary, Daily-Need Industries Limited recently organised a free medical outreach, as well as donated essential food items to over 4, 000 residents of Mushin and environs in Lagos state.
The exercise, which took place at the Primary Health Centre, Mushin, saw medical professionals collaborating with officials of the local council to counsel and create awareness on health matters, and healthy living. Children were also vaccinated against measles and polio, while young adults and the aged had free HIV, dental, eye, Hepatitis B, blood pressure, and blood sugar level tests, among others.
The Group Managing Director, Daily-Need Industries Limited, Oluwatosin Jolayemi, remarked that the firm made available various health professionals to enable “people to know their health status and get treated immediately.

Jolayemi disclosed that beyond free drugs and treatment that beneficiaries got, chronic cases were referred to recognised hospitals for proper management, adding that the company appreciated the conducive atmosphere that the Mushin community has availed its business in since 1972.
“Mushin has directly or indirectly contributed to the growth of our business because most of the employees that we use are from Mushin, and we appreciate the fact that this environment, despite the density, is still commercially viable.”
Chairman of the council, Emmanuel Bamigboye, expressed delight in identifying with the company’s “50 years of manufacturing to the benefit of mankind,” and commended Daily-Need Industries for the medical intervention.
He said the local council was collaborating with the firm to flag off the 2022 measles vaccination campaign, explaining that it was high time a National Measles Campaign was launched to eliminate measles in the country.
One of the beneficiaries, Oloko Taiwo said:
“I am happy to do the test and thankful for the medications given. Many people like my neighbours have been battling with various ailments but, due to lack of funds, have been unable to run tests for proper diagnosis,” she said.
