FG Inaugurates National Health Digitalisation C’tte
Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has Inaugurated Creative techpreneur, venture builder and Casava founder, Bode Pedro, into the National Health Digitalisation Committee (NHDC).
The 20-man committee inaugurated on March 15 2024, in Abuja, will provide health regulatory bodies with insights on digital health technologies (DHTs) to enhance understanding of the benefits, risks, and clinical outcomes associated with their use.
Pedro has extensive experience as a results-driven venture builder. His insurtech company, Casava, is recognised as Nigeria’s first 100% digital insurance company and raised $4m inventure funding, the largest pre-seed raise for an Insurtech company in Africa.

With such a wealth of experience, Pedro is expected to significantly contribute to NHDC’s initiatives, paving the way for tangible and positive transformations in Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.
“We are confident that Bode’s strategic insights and passion for leveraging technology will drive impactful changes that will benefit our nation and its people,” the Casava team said in an Instagram post announcing the appointment.
“Exciting times lie ahead as we embark on this journey towards a more digitally empowered healthcare system.”
Also on the committee are eminent personalities in the health and technology ecosystem, led by the Honourable Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa; Senior Innovation and Digitization Advisor, Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr Edem Adzogenu; the Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy and Co-Founder at Ceviant, Idris lubankudi; and the Director, Health Planning Research and Statistics, Federal Ministry of Health, Dr Chris Osa Isokpunwu among others.
