Hygeia: Community Is Sensitised On Healthy Practices

Hygeia HMO, a health insurance company, is empowering the Makoko community in Lagos State through the use of health kits.

Dr. Babajide Oyeduntan, the Head of Sales, Hygeia HMO, has said the firm would empower and sensitise the community with items like malaria prevention kits such as mosquito treated nets and to also educate them on preventive measures.

He stated that the firm’s business rested on the provision of affordable quality healthcare to Nigerians, including the people at the grassroots level, as well as providing education on ways to stay ahead of medical emergencies.

He also urged for Nigerians to take up the various health insurance plans that are available in the country so that they can protect themselves from unexpected and high medical costs.

According to him, Nigerians should take advantage of the cheap insurance covers, which the firm offers, in order to stay ahead of medical emergencies. He also described malaria as the deadliest infection of the decade and pointed out that purchasing health insurance covers, even the ones that are as low as N5,000, can help people get quick medical treatments even against malaria.

“We believe that with the right tools, malaria can be made a thing of the past in Nigeria and while we work towards this, we can, for now, use materials at our disposal to avoid mosquitoes and malaria. Additionally, to make quality healthcare even more accessible to Nigerians, Hygeia HMO has introduced the monthly payment option, starting as low as N5,000, with even better benefits and quality service.”
