OSPHCDA to Residents: HPV Vaccine Doesn’t Cause Infertility
The Ondo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (OSPHCDA) has debunked the rumors making rounds that the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccine causes infertility in women.
The agency said the voice note passing the message was nothing but falsehood as evidence globally have shown safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.

The Permanent Secretary of the OSPHCDA, Dr. Francis Adegoke Akanbiemu, made this revelation in a video message on the agency’s verified Facebook page on Tuesday.
“I would like to inform you that the viral voicenote condemning the HPV vaccine is nothing but falsehood. The vaccine is effective and safe for prevention of cervical cancer in women.
“Evidence and extensive research worldwide confirm the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness in saving women from the claws of cervical cancer therefore, I urge you to disregard the information saying it causes infertility,” the permanent secretary says in part.
