HEDCODEC, YOSPIS, AMFoundation host 2nd Heroic Health Award, Seek Entries
Heroic Discovery and Community Development Centre (HEDCODEC) in collaboration with Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS), with funding support from Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMG Foundation) are set to organize the second edition of ‘Dr. Aminu Magashi Annual Heroic Health Award’ 2023.
The award aimed to celebrate unsung frontline health workers in Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory as part of activities to mark this year’s United Nations Public Service Day.
In a statement, Mrs. Monsurah Abdullahi, the Program Director, HEDCODEC, said, “We’re encouraged with the turnout and the level of participation received last year which encourages our partners to extend it to Kano state”.
Abdullahi said the categories were drawn from behavioral performance and services rendered by the frontline health workers at the primary healthcare level in the state and the FCT.
“The nominees will be rigorously accessed through their exceptional patient care, safety compliance, punctuality, hygiene, and volunteerism.

“The Panel of Judges comprised a committee of seasoned health practitioners, health scholars, and humanitarian experts”, She said.
On her part, the Director, YOSPIS, Zainab Nasir Ahmad said, “We look forward to marking the 2023 UN Public Service Day by celebrating the exceptional of our frontline health workers at the Primary Healthcare Centers are doing in Kano and Abuja.”
