HEDCODEC Pushes Women’s impact in Family Nutrition
A non-governmental Organisation, Heroic Discovery and Community Development Center, HEDCODEC, stated that Women are central to the health of their families as they contribute directly to nutrition through proper producing, processing, and selecting purchased foods that will care for their family members.
This was stated at the wrap-up program themed “Women’s Impact on Nutrition for Family Wellbeing” WINFAW, organized by the organization in Buntu, an FCT neighboring town.

HEDCODEC Program Manager, Mrs. Monsurah Abdullah, said the “WINFAW initiative is a knowledge-base initiative and community-action program where rural women were sensitized on behavioral action to consume Plant-based foods, such as vegetables, fruits, grains, and cereals are to be given increased attention.
Abdullahi noted that the wrap-up is marked to celebrate this year ‘International Rural Women’s Day’ to sensitized rural women as they play key role in safeguarding family nutrition.
“Your children, and husband need proper nutrients to stay healthy, strong, and grow up healthy.” She said.
