Health Minister Warns of Excessive Salt Consumption Risks

Health Workers Promised Better Working Condition for Improved Service Delivery

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Ali Muhammad Pate, has promised to champion a better working condition/relationship with all unions and professional bodies in the health sector for peace and stability that would culminate in improved health care service delivery.

He solicited the support and commitment of the professional body to the dream of the President to revamp the health care sector and reposition it for effective service delivery.

A statement from the Ministry indicated that the Minister made the pledge in Abuja, when he hosted the officials of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) led by their President, Michael Nnachi.

NANNM is an umbrella body responsible for organization of all Nurses and Midwives who are certified, registered and licensed to practice by the regulatory authority, the Nursing and Midwives Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

The Minister reassured the Association of Government’s readiness to work assiduously with health organisations and professional bodies for the rapid progress and smooth running of their affairs in other to achieve its aims and objectives. “I will do everything possible to create conducive environment for health and social workers” he promised.

President of the Association, Nnachi, in his remarks, expressed gratitude to the Minister for the visionary leadership exhibited since assumption of office few months ago.

He enumerated some of the things the Association has done over the period for the good of the members, and promised not to relent but continue in satisfactory direction.

He pledged the total support of the Association to the Minister, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, as well as Federal Government, under the watch of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
