Health Ministry Condemns Brutal Abduction of Medical Students in Benue

In a shocking and devastating turn of events, 20 medical students and a house officer were kidnapped by ruthless gunmen in Benue State, leaving the medical community reeling in horror. The students, who were traveling to a medical convention in Enugu State, were ambushed in Otukpo, Benue State, on Thursday evening, sparking widespread outrage and concern.

The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has vehemently condemned the heinous act, demanding the immediate and unconditional release of the abducted students. In a strongly-worded statement, the ministry expressed its deep sadness and concern for the safety and well-being of the kidnapped students, emphasizing that their security is of paramount importance.

The Inspector-General of Police has swiftly responded to the crisis, deploying additional detectives, tactical operatives, and assets, including helicopters and drones, to ensure the swift rescue of the kidnapped students.
