Henry Egbe Ayuk, the Commissioner for Health in Cross River State, is advising student nurses and other members of the National Association of Nigerian Student Nurses and Midwives (NANSNM) to showcase what they were taught in their various nursing schools in the state by creating awareness on health, hygiene, family planning, environmental safety and other health beneficial enlightenment.
He gave the advice when the association climaxed their one-week annual celebration on Sunday in Calabar.
They had earlier visited him in his office to congratulate him, and as well inform him of activities to mark the association’s anniversary.

The commissioner said Cross River is making concerted efforts towards the attainment of Universal Health Coverage (UHC), and so it behooves all stakeholders in the health sector to support Governor Bassey Otu-led administration to actualise the lofty vision through public enlightenment, advocacy and outdoor campaigns in order to elicit public buy-in.
Assuring the students of his solidarity, the commissioner expressed his ministry’s readiness to support the association with partnerships that would engender health development for societal good.
On behalf of the association, Blessing Ernest explained that the weeklong event had offered the students from all Colleges of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery the opportunity to converge, socialise, unwind, network and chart a course for nursing sciences and midwifery education in the state and Nigeria.
