Ebonyi MOH Launches Annual Operational Plan

In collaboration with several other health partners in the state, the Ebonyi State Ministry of Health has launched its Annual Operational Plan for the 2023 Fiscal year.

The essence of the plan is to harmonise and coordinate health activities in the State.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Daniel Umezurike disclosed this during the meeting of the Health partners forum at Osborn Hotel Abakaliki the State Capital.

Umezurike during his remarks encouraged the participants to ensure the sustainability of the meeting to enable the State to benefit maximally from the activities of health partners in collaboration with the State Ministry of Health.

He said “it’s a plan of activities that the state wants to undertake for the fiscal year. This Annual Operational Plan is for 2023. It was developed in 2022. The plan is different from Annual Budget because this plan includes health partners. It is a larger budget”.

The Director of Medical services in the State Ministry, Dr. Charles Alike Commended the Commissioner for Health for all his efforts, campaign and advocacy to ensure accessible healthcare delivery in the State as well as other health partners.

On her part, the Director of Planning Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Mrs. Ugwoke Rufina thanked all their partners who attended the meeting.

Rufina said “this Annual Operational Plan is to harmonise all the activities of health sectors and all the critical issues. That plan has priority areas that cover all the pillars in the health sectors in line with the state strategic development plan”

She said the essence of the plan is that all the critical areas of health sector challenges are brought to bear.

Other health partners who participated in the meeting were the World Health Organization, USAID-IHP, United States President’s Malaria Initiative for State, State2State, USAID Health workforce management, USAID/Breakthrough Action Nigeria, Excellence Community Education Welfare Scheme, Momentum Safe Surgery in Family planning and Obstetrics, and Global health supply chain among others.
