N7.8b Earmarked To Complete Health, Education Projects In Yobe State

 

The Yobe State government has earmarked N7.77 billion for the completion of capital projects in the health and education sectors of the economy.

Recently, Governor Mai Mala Buni had enrolled over 50,000 vulnerable persons into the Expanded Healthcare Delivery (EFHD) scheme in order for them to gain access to healthcare.

As part of the funding for the various projects, at the weekend, in Damaturu, the Commissioner for Information, Mohammed Lamin, disclosed that the State Executive Council (SEC) approved N7,771,564,656 for upgrading facilities the two critical sectors.

He said the State Education Trust Fund (SETF) would gulp N4.53 billion with the modalities of implementing its various projects.

According to the commissioner, this will also help in enhancing healthcare delivery and improve people’s living conditions across the state.

He disclosed that the health projects included the procurement of medical equipment and curtains, supply of hospital furniture and installation of medical oxygen/piping at the Maternal and Child Healthcare Centre as well as Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH), Damaturu.
