DENGUE FEVER: Death toll hits 122 in Vietnam, over 300,000 infected
Vietnam health ministry on Thursday reported that the death toll from dengue fever this year has hit 122 in the country with 325,604 cases recorded.
The ministry said the number of dengue infections increased nearly five times and the number of death went up by 97 cases compared to the same period last year.

According to the country’s Preventive Health Department, between January and November, 269 cases of virus encephalitis infection were recorded including five deaths, and 62,400 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease.
A total of 601 people in the country, suffered from food poisoning, of whom 14 died in the cited period, said the department.
According to the department, Vietnam currently has 221,500 HIV carriers. To date, 112,500 people in the country have died of AIDS-related diseases.
