Contaminated FrieslandCampina Peak Milk

Contaminated Milk Endangers Consumer Health

If not for the timely intervention of Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), the Nigerian market would have been saturated with contaminated milk from FrieslandCampina Nigeria Plc, the makers of Peak Milk.

Several open markets in Lagos State were reported to have sold contaminated milk products that were harmful to humans a few weeks ago. This prompted the closure of a warehouse in the Isheri area of Lagos State by LASCOPA.

According to Afolabi Solebo, the General Manager of the agency, FrieslandCampina was ordered to conduct a forensic investigation to determine whether the batch number of the contaminated products originated from them or from another source, and required it to turn over the findings of the investigation.
