Cambodian Arrested For Fabricating COVID-19 Deaths
On Friday, the Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, had ordered the arrest of a man for posting fake online news about new COVID-19 deaths.
The Prime Minister stated that the suspect had posted an outdated picture of a person’s death and claimed that it was a new COVID-19 death.
In a speech during the celebration of the National Fish Day, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that the suspect had been sent to a court for prosecution.

He warned that those who create fake news regarding COVID-19 to cause social chaos would be arrested and prosecuted.
According to the health ministry, Cambodia has seen no new COVID-19 deaths since the 21st of April.
On Friday, the ministry reported that Cambodia had three new COVID-19 cases and zero new deaths which brings the total number of cases to 136,282, with 133,206 recoveries and 3,056 deaths.
