Bill, Melinda Gates Foundation, RFHA Partner For Family Health Programme

According to Sue Paget, the Chief Executive Officer, of the Rotary Action Group for Family Health and Aids Prevention (RFHA), the RFHA, in partnership with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will not relent in its commitment to providing free health screening, immunisation, education on disease prevention and treatment.

She made the disclosure as the National Coordinator of RFHA, Bola Oyebade, announced that the Family Health Days (RFHD) will commence today, through October 26, 2022.

Paget, who was at the flag off of this year’s Rotary Family Health Week, held at Rotary Centre, GRA, Ikeja, said RFHD are carried out, not only in Nigeria but also in Uganda, Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia, Togo, Lesotho, Ghana, Eswatini, Benin, South Africa and the State of Madya Predesh in India.

She said: “We have served over 2.5 million people with over 11 million free health services to the tune of $33 million.”

According to Oyebade, the three-day programme, which includes screening and testing for HIV/AIDs, TB, cancer, diabetes, blood pressure, etc., targets 150,000 beneficiaries across the country.

“We will also carry out referrals, and we have more than 15 NGO’s partnering with us. Some are from within the country while our major partner remains Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.”
