Arise Women Organises Health Walk, Raises Funds For Less Privileged
On Saturday, the Arise Women Forum, began its 14th Annual Women Conference, with a walk that it described as a “Walk for Life.”
The walk, with its theme: “Appointed to Live”, took place in clusters in various locations in Nigeria and around the world.
It served as the first course ahead of the main event which would take place on October 29, 2022.
The Ikoyi cluster, which the organisers referred to as a major one, started its five-kilometre walk from St. Saviour’s School in Ikoyi and thereafter moved to Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, for its after-party.

The Head of the Ikoyi Cluster, Janet Adetu, who spoke on behalf of the convener, Dr. Siju Iluyomade, told The PUNCH that the walk was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and networking with people, hence, the event was spiced up with aerobics, music, and dance.
Adetu said the event would serve as a fund-raiser for the less privileged in various communities.
She said, “We have a theme every year from the convener, Dr. Siju Iluyomade, and the theme she came up with this year is ‘Appointed to Live.’
“It’s been fantastic this year. We started with aerobics and dance; then we just got back from our five-kilometre walk. Now as you can see, we are stretching and dancing again. The ‘Arise Walk for Life’ is all about walking for life, fitness, wellness, networking with people; making sure that we fellowship with one another, and more importantly, buying these T-shirts to raise money for the less privileged in various communities.”
“We are all around the world now. You can see us in New York, Paris, Dubai, and all over Nigeria and all over Lagos, but the Ikoyi cluster is the best.”
